Hi - My name is Wendy Willmott and I live in a small village in Kent with my very long-suffering husband and two wonderful children.
My beads and jewellery are all inspired by my beautiful surroundings. I am fortunate to live overlooking the creek, which is overflowing with colour and wild-life. The creek plays host to the most vibrant of insects and birds and with the serenity of the boats and still waters, the inspiration seems endless. Not to mention the sunsets!
I take great pride when selecting silverware and other findings to add to my beads, to produce the final article of jewellery.
My beads are created by me in my humble workshop using my Nortel Minor Torch and they are all annealed in my Paragon Kiln for added strength
.I was recently fortunate enough to have been chosen to participate in a US book publication by Lampwork artist Jeri Warhaftig. Her book how now been published and is available to buy.
Title : Creating Glass Beads Author: Jeri L Warhaftig
Publisher: Lark Crafts
It was a wonderful opportunity for me to 'come out of my comfort zone' and attempt new techniques.
Here is a selection of my beads which appear in her book:
